Anderson Farms with Daddy

Today we went to Anderson Farms and this year we took Chris!!  The sun has dried things out but the ground was a little soggy out in the corn maze, made for a good workout :)

It was a beautiful day and we had so much fun. Pedal go carts, barrel train rides, corn maze, king of the tractor tires, hay maze, goats, fire safety with the fire department, so many exciting things!!

This year Safi carried her pumpkin out of the field with NO TEARS!!!

Georgetown Loop Railroad

Today was a beautiful day!!  I'm so glad that we did this, we drove up and took the Georgetown Loop Train and we did the Silver Mine Tour as well!! Note to self, when planning trips take the height of others into consideration.  Chris spent pretty much the entire time in the mine bent over.  I guess when you are 5'3" you don't worry too much if the height is just a little under six foot.  When you are 6'7" that is a different story.

This was something that Safi and I watched this Spring while we were coming down the mountain after a day of skiing.  They brought the train out and got it all cleaned up and ready for the season.  They do speciality trains in the winter like Santa Trains and the such but I thought that it would be an awesome way to see the trees in the fall.

While it was still a little early in the year to see all of the color it was beautiful and perfect timing! Snow is forcasted later in the week.  We will soooo do this again :)

The Ladybug and Another Zoo!

In my trusty dusty What to do as a Family in Colorado book it listed the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo as a place to visit.  Well we didn't make it last year before it got too cool.  Today while we were trying to make our plan we continplated a few other options before deciding that a cool day in the mountains sounded soooo much better than a hot day on a farm.

So we packed up and headed down to The Springs, I guess we have been here long enough we can't be bothered to say "Colorado Springs."

We had a blast despite the two hour car ride, but who doesn't need a little family bonding time?  Yes it is set on the side of a mountain just as its' name suggests but the inclines weren't any worse than the ones at the San Diego Zoo.  The cooler (ok so maybe it was in the low 80s) made it completely bareable, better than the high 90s!!

Feeding the giraffes (and I counted like 16 of them) puts the Houston Zoo to shame.  We missed the elephant feeding because we were having too much fun with the giraffes.  The lions, the peacocks wandering around, THE VIEWS!, pony rides, the peeing rhino, it was all awesome!  And we all know how much the Ladybug loves her a zoo!!!

This is a place we WILL be going back to :)
