Small World Day at School

Today was Small World day at school.  They have been learning some of the different traditions and cultures around the world.  Today the kids were supposed to dress in a "traditional dress" of a country of their ancestor's origin.

After some suggestions from the peanut gallery of dress her as a pilgrim and send her in regular clothes she's American.  I decided that German would be the safest choice (that and the easiest since I had 2 hours to put something together).

Oh, my child is the one that doesn't bring home notes.  JOY!  So I had literally two hours to run around and try to find something that would resemble my inspiration picture.........

Cute right?  I can throw together something that will resemble this right?  My child will be adorable and it won't cost me the $75.00 that this little girl's dress costs!!!  Oh and Safi will LOVE IT!

So the race was on, and I think I succeeded on most fronts.

All was great until it was time to get dressed this morning, let's just say it involved ALOT of tears and threats.

This is what Safi looked like after 30 minutes of screaming.......

She looked adorable!! AND it only cost me $10.00, SCORE!!!!

Then I picked her up from school.........

Daddy took her to school this morning (I had an early morning commitment), he swears she was wearing all her clothes when he dropped her off. :)

Wish Come True....With a Side of Exhaustion

Today Mila came home with us from school.......

I had packed Safi and Mila each their own snack of oranges and strawberries and a cow milk (the horizons boxed milk, Safi calls it cow milk because it has a cow on the box).  The girls inhaled the fruit in the car within minutes of getting it open!

I know they eat at school, we send lunches everyday and they are given 2 snacks!!! All that learning really works up an appetite :)

So for our surprise today we went to Hoppin House, a new bouncy house in the area that opened recently.  They girls were quite excited!!!  Mila said it was her wish come true :)

After and hour and a half of jumping and playing in the foam pit, and a full day at school, the girls were exhausted so we headed to the house for some dinner.

Awesome Balloons in the Tub

Safi loves her "surprises" in the tub.  I try to add something fun to play with once a week and she gets excited about it.  It just makes tub time that much more fun :)

Today was a balloon day.........I had some of the colored tabs in some of them so when she cut the balloon a different color would come out and tint the tub water.

The twist today was some of the balloons were frozen.  I thought about this idea a little late in the day so the balloons weren't frozen solid and the warm water in the tub melted the ice quite a bit, however it was still fun finding the bits of ice. Oh well, next time (I do have a few in the freezer now that are completely frozen).

Illuminarium

Today Safi and I rode the train downtown to go see the Illuminarium at the Long Center.  It is a really cool exhibit that is touring the world and is put on by the Architects of Air.  After walking a little over a mile, pushing the princess, we finally made it to the Long Center.

The pictures just don't do it justice, it was an awesome experience, and Safi had a blast she really got into the experience.

Shrine Circus

We went to the Shrine Circus and had awesome seats, Momma strikes again!!

Safi rode the ponies, got her face painted and was ahhhhhed by the elephants :)  The show started at 7:30 and "intermission" was at 9:00pm.  After a long day at school Safi was pooped so we headed home at intermission.
