Bottles Gone Awry!

I have been collecting bottles, plastic bottles of all different shapes and sizes.  Safi has a shampoo bottle that she likes to play with in the bathtub more than the other toys she has in there.  So I thought that it might be interesting to see what she would do with a collection of them.

Safi explored and poured all of the water out of them.....

This is going too slow..... time to take the lid off!

Then she filled them all back up.....

Next Safi wanted to make the water blue, so we added a few color tabs from her bathroom.....

Safi wanted to make Green.......What makes Green?  Lellow and Blue, Momma!!  Then it was all over, Safi climbed in to mix the colors.

Well, once you are standing in it, you might as well sit down!

She continued to explore, Safi just chose to do it inside the tub of water!

That's my girl!!  Gotta do it her way :)

Oooooh Water Beads

This was another idea that I got from the Play At Home Mom blog.  They are little itty bitty beads that you soak in water over night and they retain the the gel or the little beads found in some centerpieces from the 80s that slowly release the water to the plants/flowers.

Anyway, they feel really cool, a little slimy but all that is left on your hand is a little water.  Waterbeads ......Check Them Out!

Safi wasn't interested in putting them on the lightboard, but it was there as an option.  She played with those for a good hour!

Light Boards Are Awesome!

So the teacher in me has been coming out lately.....ALOT!  I went up in the attic and got out some of my manipulatives and overhead stuff (since I think that it will be obsolete when I finally do go back to teacher).

Pinterest introduced me to this fabulous blog Play At Home Mom.  I would love to take credit for some of these ideas, but she is good!!  So, I bought a light board, an LED one that doesn't get hot, and Safi and I have been playing around with it.......

So, Safi looks at the fraction circles like they are a puzzle.  She could easily put them back together all the way up to 1/8 pieces the first time that I got them out.

Playing with pattern block and colored circles.

This was the first time that I had out these manipulatives, I think that if we continue to play with them on the board and just on the table she will be able to come up with some really interesting things.

Homemade Finger Paints!!!

Pinterest stikes again!!  Safi and I made Finger Paints!!  They really were easy to make and Safi loved playing/painting with them.....oh and Isabel helped to clean up :)

Oh and just a warning, Safi thinks that clothes are optional at our house (insert eye roll)
