The 3 Year Old is Well

So Safi and I went in to the Doctor for her 3 year old well check today.  I have been talking to her about going to the doctor's office and she has gone with me, Safi also got a doctor kit for her birthday so she has been doctoring everything she can get her hands on (Doodle runs really fast and Isabel is REALLY patient).

Safi took her shoes off and walked right up to the scale and got on, no fuss and stood tall to be measured, just like we have been practicing at home.

35 pounds
37 1/4 inches

She was very proud of her self :)  Then it was time to head back to the exam room, no cryin'.  Safi sat up on the table and let the nurse take her blood pressure and listen to her heart beat (Safi held her breath), still no fussing.  The nurse handed me a gown for Safi to put on and then left the room.

I got "the look,"  Dress on Momma!  After some discussion we, Safi, settled on naked for the visit with the doctor.  If naked is good enough for the backyard I guess it is going to have to be good enough for the doctor's office.  All went well with the visit with the doctor, Dr. Mitchell was a little hesitant to believe that Safi eats the fruits and veggies that she does, but if you know my child......a french fry is not a veggie in her book ;)

Then it was time for the shots.  Safi needed 3 in order to be caught up on all of her shots :(  This has always been her least favorite part of the visit, although I can't imagine it being any one's highlight!!  I love Dr. Mitchell's nurse though she comes in totally prepared and ready to take on my little linebacker.  Although she did make a comment this time, "I think she has gotten stronger!"  She had stuck Safi all 3 times before I even knew what was going on. AWESOME!!  There were tears, but that was it!!  First doctor's visit without the need to call the cleaning crew :)

Flu season is just around the corner, anyone want to go with me to get her flu shot?

My First Dance Class!

Today we went back to The Little Gym after a summer hiatus.  It was the first day of Jazzy Bugs class!!!  We were prepared, I had bought tap shoes (otherwise known as the loud shoes) and ballet shoes (the quiet ones) and we had walked around the house in them.  Safi had on her SuperGirl leotard from SueSue and her shoes in her matching bag, but no tutu that came off before she walked out of her bedroom.

I put the tutu in her bag just in case but it didn't matter that all of her friends had them on, Safi was NOT wearing a tutu, oh well.  Shoes off and she marched into the gym without even so much as a wave bye to mom, guess I'm just the taxi driver now :(

After a deep conversation with Pepper it was time to put on the loud shoes!!!

This is the position that she spent half of the tap time, oh and she looked like she was going to cry.  12 little girls with tap shoes on was a little too much for her.  Safi watched as the other little girls went slip sliding around the floor and she wanted nothing to do with that.  Pepper just took her shoes off :)  But eventually Safi did get up and start walking around.  Guess we will be practicing ALOT at home this week!!

SHOE CHANGE!!!  Time for the quiet shoes, yes!!

All in all it was a pretty good class, she listened and followed directions.  They are supposed to practice walking on their toes with straight legs this week, well we have that one nailed already!  The teacher even commented on that as well.

We celebrated with lunch at Jason's Deli with Jules and Linda.  It was a pretty good day :)

Do You Throw Balls?

This had to have been one of the best birthdays ever.  Safi slept til almost 9:00am (no I did not drug her!), we had breakfast and then I got to spend the day with Chris doing whatever we wanted, just two adults,  all because my other sweet little girl came to town to stay with Safi.

I can not believe that baby Madelyn is old enough babysit my child.  It is hard to believe that Madelyn and Frank are now the same age that I was when they were born.  My sweet little babies are all grown up, and now it is their turn.

Chris and I went and had a little lunch, we went shopping, had dinner, and then decided that we missed the girls.  So we texted them and told them to get some socks and shoes we were coming to pick them up.

We got everyone loaded up and headed back out,  to go throw balls :)  I think Aunt Mad was a little worried until we explained what throwing balls actually was..........

Hello Pink Kitty

This ones for you Aunt Jeri!!!

So apparently my child has Build A Bear all figured out, even though she has only been in there once and I'm pretty sure it was about a year ago.

Safi and Daddy went walking in the mall and shocking enough Safi made a B line for Build-A-Bear, grabbed and animal and got in line.  Daddy had a hard time saying no and this is what they came out with...........

If you notice in the second picture the cat has on shoes, as cute as they may be it is obvious that a man designed said shoes.  This was the last time that both shoes were on this stuffed animal.  The shoes are now hidden in the top of the closet at home.  Oh and the cat is now naked.

Mystic Closing

My little trooper!!!  I picked her up from school and we headed out for Hunt to make camp closing.  Safi didn't sleep in the car AT ALL, ran around all over the camp with Madelyn in the hot afternoon sun.  Then we headed off to dinner with Mark and Ruthie.

She was pretty good at dinner, offered well actually opened the gate and tried to help make tortillas at the restaurant.  The man at the restaurant said she couldn't, couldn't something about child labor laws and the health department......so picky.

Back to camp for more festivities!!  Safi was tired but interested.  She walked and walked and walked.  After hugs and kisses we headed back to the cabin, changed into some jammies and got back in the car to head to Austin.  It was almost 11:00 before she fell asleep!!!  I couldn't believe that she made it that long and never had a melt down, my little trooper!!!!
