The Ladybug and Benny

Safi has come to the point where she believes that sleeping is optional.  Unfortunately this doesn't happen only at naptime but it has been happening at bedtime also.  We have taken the rail off the side of her bed so she can sleep in a big girl bed.  This started out really well, Safi stayed in bed until we came and got her and it was as if the rail was still there. Not so much any more.

Now Safi won't stay in her bed.  Tuesday night I got her pack n play out and she fell asleep in that and then I transferred her to her bed.  Wednesday at naptime I thought that was the route that I was going to have to take, and ended up getting it out.  Put Safi in it, then she learned that she can climb out.  No nap Wednesday.

Wednesday night I ended up laying on the couch in her room (Safi was in her bed) until she fell asleep (only about 5 minutes because she was so exhausted).  Thursday naptime Safi was on the same trip of up and out of bed a zillion times, again I laid on the couch and she fell asleep.

I can give up naptime, I don't think that Safi is really ready to, the dark circles under her eyes tell me she isn't quite there yet.  I just don't want to be the person that has to lay there with my child so they will fall asleep.  My goal is to move further away each night til I'm not in her room.

So Wednesday, Brown left a package at the front door............

Playdate with the Ladybug and Jules

Jules came over today to play.  We had originally hoped to be able to play outside also, but the weather just wasn't cooperating  :(.  The girls had fun playing inside though.  They stamped, played with letter stickers, and dress-up!!

Crafty Little Ladybug

So today we were cleaning and crafting, I know the two don't really go together, but I had to clean and Safi had the urge to be crafty or for me to be crafty.

We painted, outside on the easel.......

I made balloon animals, thank you daddy for buying more balloons and putting them down low so Safi could get to them!

Then we did stamps......

Sad Day

Just wanted to share a very heart breaking story that has touched us.  This is the story of a family that is apart of SOE here in Austin.

Spring with the Ladybug

I have missed these days and I really didn't realize how much until today, sitting outside watching Safi play for hours on end with simple things like a bucket and water.

This afternoon after coming home from a whirlwind trip to San Antonio we just hung out on the back porch for a couple of hours and it was so wonderful.  Safi played with her sand table and the water fountain (which is now full of sand) and all was right with the world.  Isabel laid in the grass and Doodle came in and out of the house to "check" on us.

Then I started looking at Safi and how tall she has gotten, my little girl is growing up :(  A year is creeping up on us.  Some days it doesn't feel like it has been that long, and other days well.......

Our Ladybug is a gift that is cherished each and every day.

The strawberry plant is blooming!!!

Squash that Safi and I planted,   "Night, Night; Eat ya Later!!"

The potato plants are coming up, they are bigger than the squash!

More potatoes!!

I like my new dress SueSue!!!  It fits perfect!!!

The Ladybug and Jules in the Garden

Today we (Linda, Jules, Safi and I) all piled into the car and headed down to the Zilker Botanical Gardens.  The girls had a blast riding in the car together, and Linda brought food so of course Safi ate the whole way until I cut her off!!

We got out of the car and the girls were off, free to run!!!!!!  And run they did, I think that Safi ran through 3/4s of the garden and Jules was right there with her.  I have no idea where she gets her energy from.  Last night she was up from 2:15-6:30 am, she did go back to sleep til about 8:45 so that helped some, but boy am I tired.
