Round Rock Fall Fest almost

Today was the Fall Fest put on by the Round Rock Parks Department.  Today was also the morning that Safi decided to sleep in, so we were only at the park for 30minutes during the festival.  Oh well, we had fun anyway.

Settler's Park was awesome!  It was windy and so much cooler that yesterday, it was great!  So glad that I took her jacket (thanks SueSue!). We walked along the little lake and found the ducks.  Safi wanted to play with them so bad, but they didn't want anything to do with her (shocking!), however Safi was willing to follow them into the water.

After our walk then it was on to the playscape!!  Safi had fun climbing up the "rock mountain" and of course sliding down the slides.  She loves her slides!!!

Spooky Ladybug

Halloween is almost here and Safi and I have had our fair share of fun!!  Today we went to the Halloween Party for our playgroup.  I was so worried that she wouldn't wear her costume (every time I have put it on her she has screamed bloody murder).  So this morning after swimming I dressed her in long black pants, black t-shirt (Thanks MiMi!!), hair in little pigtails and we headed out to the party.  Once we were there she stepped into her felt ladybug jumper and we were off to have some fun!!  On a side note I felt like a horrible mom because it was 90 degrees outside and I was dressing my child like it was going to snow!!

Helping her friend with the swing :)

Safi had fun and didn't want to leave, but once we were in the car she started, "Night, Night, Night, Night."  The girl knows when she has had enough.  I got her into some cooler clothes when we got home and she was out like a light!

The Ladybug has a Sleep Over

It was a busy weekend!  Friday was Daddy's Birthday and Saturday night Aunt Mad came and spent the night!!  Madelyn was in Austin for Denys' Birthday on Sunday.

The girls had fun and Safi warmed up to Mad.  They played in the backyard Saturday afternoon, we had leftovers for dinner, played in the tub and then it was off to bed.

Sunday we had brunch with the rest of the family.  Of course we had to start the morning off with some cartoons and couch time!!

We had brunch at 1:30 at Chee Zee, it was awesome!!  Safi was a trooper.  She picked off of Madelyn's plate and mine.  Colored on the paper, and Madelyn :(  She also showed off her iphone skills!!

For going out during naptime Safi was awesome!!!

Happy Birthday Denys, and Happy Parent's Weekend!!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Friday night we celebrated Daddy's Birthday!!  We had a bunch of people over to the house for fajitas and cake.

Safi had so much fun playing with all the kids.  I'm not sure she ate anything other than the chips and guac that Chris made before everyone got there.  Safi was pretty cute, I had put the chips in the warming drawer of the oven so Safi would open the drawer grab a chip or two and then turn and close the drawer with her foot.  After the drawer was closed she was all about he guac.  "Guac, Guac, Guac"  until she got some, the girl loves her Guac!
We had pumpkin painting for the kids, which turned into painting on fence (Melanie and I put of paper first), and some even ate the paint or painted themselves.  When it got dark we broke out the glow sticks, all the kids had a blast and created many different games with the sticks.  One of the games included Jens gathering the sticks all up and as he threw them yelled out a color for the kids to pick-up and bring back to him.  They all had a blast.

Chris wanted an ice cream cake so I got him a chocolate one and we put dinosaurs on it and the cupcakes that I baked.  Safi learned to say dinosaur and she was pretty good about sharing!

Safi had so much fun, and played so hard I found her sitting by her bed saying "Night, Night" She was delirious.

The Ladybug Hangs at the Garden

Today Safi and I went to Zilker Botanical Gardens.  I took the stroller out "just in case she got tired," well Safi decided that she was going to be LAZY and wanted to sit in it from the beginning. I was not going to push her up and down the hills, also it would defeat the purpose of taking her someplace to run around and see nature.  So, I took the stroller back to the car and we headed off just us and the camera.

I had never been there, it is an interesting place with lots of different areas tucked in the trees. I of course took a zillion pictures trying to get that right one.  Safi wasn't too interested in me, she was having fun.  We found the Japanese garden that had a waterfall and a stream that meandered through the path.  Safi was amazed that you could just step over the stream and keep going.  She worked on her balancing as we walked from rock to rock through a little pond being careful not to get wet.

Through the bamboo forest, she had to stop a take a break.  Oh and try to kiss a rock?  I don't know what she was thinking.

Then a nice gentleman pointed us in the direction of the Koi pond.  Safi was intrigued by the HUGE Koi.  We saw turtles sunning themselves.

Next we found the Prehistoric Garden........

It was getting to be the end of our time so Safi was being testy.  Plus, she was tired of looking at the water she wanted in!!

The waterfall that we saw next, and promptly went to wash our hands in (eye roll)

We were pretty much done after that, done meaning Safi was tired and wanted me to carry her.  So we stopped and took a few more breaks on the way back to the car.  Ohma called and Safi talked to her for a few minutes while she was walking on benches.  Then she tried to turn on the cute while she was hanging on the rails of the gazebo.

Home for some lunch and a good nap!

Well, Safi got the nap, I went to work putting up the greenhouse.  Two hours without a helper and I got quite a bit done.  Then my helper woke up and things started slowing down.  We got most of it up though!!  I will finish it tomorrow during nap and post a picture of the final product.

It was a full day and tomorrow promises to be another full day.  Swim lessons in the morning then off to the big gym for play with Safi and sweating upstairs for mom.  We have lots to do in the afternoon also, we're having a birthday party on Friday evening and we must get ready. :)

The Busy Little Ladybug

It was a busy weekend, but it was fun.  Daddy was home this weekend, we missed him last weekend while he was in New York City.  Safi enjoyed the postcards that he sent, and of course all of the "surprises."  King Kong came back from the Empire State building, Lego magnets, and a Buzz Lightyear key chain from the Lego store,  and who doesn't need an I  NY shirt? The best prize of all was though were the headphones from the plane!!  Safi was so excited to have Daddy home :)

I'm not having any fun!!!!
Yesterday I was on a mission to find a cool playscape in Georgetown that I had read about, so off we went.  The playscape is in San Gabriel Park so we packed up and headed in that direction.  When we got to the park there was a festival going on.  We never found the playscape but we had a lot of fun walking around, most of us anyway.  Safi was in a mood, so she sat in her stroller and ate cotton candy.  I want her life.

You can't make me smile :(

We headed home for nap, Pops and SueSue were coming over late this afternoon!!  After a good nap and a little calculus Safi was in a much better mood and ready to have some fun :)

Pops and SueSue brought Safi a little gift, a ladybug box with a necklace and little ladybug pendant.  She smiled so big and was so excited, we had to put it on immediately!  Safi had hugs and many Thank Yous for both Pops and SueSue.

Safi took them outside to see her toys and sand table, and we all sat outside and enjoyed the evening.  Then it was off to dinner.  Safi managed to put away edamame, grape tomatoes, some grilled cheese, and of course a few french fries.  It must be topped off with a couple of bites of chocolate cake and ice cream!!  I have no idea where she puts it all sometimes!!!  Hugs and Kisses to Pops and SueSue and we are off to take baths and hit the hay.

Today we made another attempt at locating the playscape.  I looked at a different map had a better idea at where we were going, success!!! We found the Creative Playscape, when I saw it on the web it reminded me of the playscape in San Marcos that I used to take the kids to and they had a blast so I was sure that Safi would like this one as well.  Although it was a little warmer this morning than it was yesterday we still had lots of fun.  Swings, slides, and lots to crawl and climb on, we will be returning to this park :)

Rudy's for lunch.....Safi can put away the hottie sausage (I know this is shocking, since she is such a picky eater....NOT), a couple bites of corn and some of Daddy's banana pudding.  The funny part was after she finished the pudding she dug back in the tray and started eating brisket!!!  Our little meat eater :)

A parent is supposed to think that their child is the cutest, grandparents as well.  People may even tell you how cute she is when you are out in public.  The odd thing is when strangers give Safi things.  We were sitting enjoying lunch and a lady walked up to our table and gave Safi and disney princess book, odd.  Chris and I just laughed after she walked off.  I don't get it, but it is very kind.

After nap today Safi finally got to open the box that Daddy sent her from NYC.  A Disney Dance Dance Revolution for the Wii :)  She was very excited to open the box and see what was inside, the amusing part was watching Daddy and Safi try to play.  She is good at pushing the buttons, with her hands or her feet.  It didn't last long, they quickly gave up and started jousting again with Wii Sport Resort.

We had a movie night and watched Bug's Life, ate popcorn (each with our own popcorn bowl), and goat cheese.  It was the perfect ending to a wonderful weekend :)

Sand and Surf

This morning we had swim lessons at Nitro and Safi did an awesome job.  She is slowly becoming more trusting and floating on her back more and more.  But today we did her favorite thing.....bubbles!!  Safi loves to blow bubbles and she is good at it :)

This afternoon we played at the sand table in the backyard.  I put sand in her water/sand table since the weather has gotten a little cooler.  Safi is still doing a bit of experimenting with it and each day gets into it more and more :)

After fun in the backyard it was time to get clean! Safi also used this as another chance to lay on her back.  She has been practicing and has come a long way.  We have slowly gone from just sitting in the tub to her laying down in a dry tub to now she is laying down with her ears in the water.  YEA SAFIA!!!

The Ladybug and the Gyant Join the Club

Today I took Safi and Chris on an adventure that I used to take "my kids" on every year.  And last weekend Denys told me that he still remembers those trips and that he had alot of fun doing it every year.  I know that he may be saying that just to make me feel good, but that is OK in my book :)

It was a beautiful day and Safi was eager to climb on the big orange dinosaurs that are in the parking lot.  We had to take the picture on top, I know we have a few of those floating around of the kids :)

Safi took her tour in the backpack while Mom and Dad made the trek on foot.  Safi also figured out this trip that she can throw her weight around in the backpack and throw Mom off balance!  Don't worry Ruthie, I never fell down!!

Since this was our second visit to heaven, I mean a cave, Daddy was in heaven.  Safi knew all the tricks, how to duck, not to touch, and of course, how to make your voice echo while everyone is quiet listening to the tour guide.

There has been some rain recently but most of the water had receded within the cave, it was still pretty wet.  Lots of pools of crystal clear water, and plenty of cave kisses along the way.

After the tour of the caverns we had to take a mini break, and the Ladybug needed to stretch her legs so we got a drink and played in the water at the base of a water wheel.  Then it was off to the Wild Animal Park!

They have gotten upscale since the last time I was here. They have a nice giraffe enclosure, and a petting zoo area, they only had goats but who can say no to baby goats? Oh and a grille, Chris made a few comments about that was what they did with all the "sleeping" animals.  We had lunch at Chuy's.
