Bow Head

Last night I made a couple more bows for Safia after she went to bed.  So this morning I showed her the bows and immediately her hair had to be done (insert eye roll here).

After watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and each of us drinking our "juice" (mine coffee, Safi's yogurt and juice).  We went to Safi's bedroom to put some clothes on, she started saying "potty" and taking all of her clothes off.  So to the potty we went, where she sat and danced to her Abby Cadaby book and jabbered on.  I went in to the kitchen to put something away and turned around, there was Safia!  "Get to the potty!" She smiled and said no and ran back to the bathroom with me following.  Safi had gone potty and she wanted to show me :)  After hugs and kisses and 2 beans (jellybeans), she dumped her product in the big potty and flushed it away all with a huge smile.

Time to go outside to play!  Now that she is a big girl Safi doesn't want to wear the top to her swimsuit, so we went with just her Dora bottoms today, and no diaper.  Of course Safi had her bow in, we must look cute and the only way to do that is to have your hair done, I think she must be channeling Gran!
After nap and chocolate, because every girl loves chocolate (mouse that is), it was time to go back outside for more fun! Only this time Daddy would be joining us and finger painting is on the agenda.  We have a pretty cool set up, I put paper on the fence at Safi height and a plate full of paint on the one of the chairs and she goes to town.  However, when Daddy is involved things can get a little out of hand at times......

Little Social Butterfly

Last night we went to dinner at The Kona Grill. Dinner wasn't until 7:30 (bedtime) and Safi's afternoon nap had only lasted about an hour so I knew things would be interesting.

Of course, Safi proved me wrong. She was an angel, eating edamame, chicken, cooked carrots, and a few mashed potatoes. Safi drew in her note pad, which she had stored in her purse, played with her pink gecko and just people watched.

As the night drew on I coukd see her fading so I took out my phone and she watched Sid The Science with her head in her hands. Safi was adorable looking and catching every bodies attention.

The topper was when we got up to leave and Safi had to walk around the table (there were about 10 people there) and do knuckles with everyone. When she was finished with our table she was ready to make the rounds of the restaurant. It was 10:00pm, waaaaay past bedtime.

Today we met Lesley at PF Changs for lunch and again Safi was a little angel. Crab wontons, crispy green beans and garlic noodles. She picked at the cashew and almond chicken and Mongolian beef.

The great part was when daddy picked her up out of the high chair and her sandal went flying across the restaurant, what a mess we were great entertainment for the tables around us :)

Safi is growing so fast. She is more confident with stairs and her gait is so much more steady. Safia can follow directions (when she wants to) and likes to be independent. Her hair is growing out and so she has been wearing bows. She points to her head and says, "More, More". Safia likes to have her hair done and when we are finished she looks in the mirror and says, "Cute!". Such a little ham!!!

The Ladybug and the Circus

Happy Birthday to me!!  We are going to the circus tonight!!!!!

Gran took me to the circus for the first time for my birthday when I was 13 and I had so much fun.  We were living with her and it was just the two of us, it was our special night.  I have always remembered that night.

I got us tickets to opening night (and my birthday) thinking it would be a fun kid thing to do.  The three of us got there a little early so we could walk around and see all the sights.  Daddy introduced Safi to cotton candy and she was hooked.  Her face lit up, the two of them ate a whole thing of cotton candy.  Safi had popcorn and chocolate covered marshmallows (I think that was what they were).  We found our seats and watched the preshow activities on the floor of the Erwin Center.  All was going well.

Then they started a chopper, screams and kicking.
Then the anouncer started, more screams and kicking; this is not going to work :(

So we left.  I was sad, but it was the best thing to do for Safi :(  We will try again in a couple of years.
